Wallace Beery

Wallace Beery est un acteur américain né le 1er avril 1885 à Kansas City et décédé le 15 avril 1949 d'une crise cardiaque.
A l'âge de seize ans, il rejoint le cirque des frères Ringling comme assistant à l'entraînement des éléphants. Il le quittera deux plus tard aprés avoir été griffé par un tigre, pour rejoindre New York où il se fait connaître à Broadway.
Il commence sa carrière d'acteur au cinéma en 1913, avec plusieurs films où il joue le rôle de Sweedie.
En 1932, il obtient l'Oscar du meilleur acteur pour le rôle de Andy Purcell dans Le Champion de King Vidor.
Wallace Beery a été marié deux fois, avec Gloria Swanson d'abord, puis avec Rita Gorman.
