Led Zeppelin II est un album de hard'n'blues sorti le 22 octobre 1969 sur le label Atlantic Records. C'est leur deuxième album et l'un des plus populaires du groupe. Précurseur du heavy metal il inspire toute une nouvelle génération du metal tel que Blue Öyster Cult, Van Halen ou Deep Purple.

Commercialement, le titre Whole Lotta Love est le plus gros succès du groupe. Il arrive en 4^e position du Billboard, Top 100 américain, en octobre 1969.

Enregistré de Janvier à août 1969 aux Olympic Studios de Londres, auMirror Sound de LA, aux Mystic Studios de LA, auxMorgan Studios de Londres, aux A&R Studios de NY, au Juggy Sound Studio, NY, aux Atlantic Studios de NY, auxMayfair Studios de NY et au Hut de Vancouver. Mixé au A&R Studios, NY.
