The definition is not very complex. It suffices to remove some particular senses as the artistic imitation, the imitation for playing or mocking. Imitation implies a model and an imitor (not imitator) Imitation as a cultural way of being socialised is known since Tarde ().Imitation has been highly extended in the mimesis of René Girard.
