L'American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), en français « Association américaine pour l'avancée de la science », a été fondée en 1848. Elle est l'une des plus anciennes et peut-être la plus grande fédération d'organisations scientifiques, avec plus de 275 organismes scientifiques affiliés et 10 millions de personnes concernées. Elle est notamment éditrice de la célèbre revue Science magazine.
