Image:Bell System 1877.jpg Alexandre Graham Bell (3 mars 1847 à Edimbourg - 2 août 1922 à Baddeck au Canada) est un inventeur britannique (naturalisé américain en 1882) qui est surtout connu pour son téléphone.
Il fut longtemps considéré comme le premier à déposer le brevet du téléphone (en 1876). Le crédit de cette invention lui a cependant été retiré, la Chambre des représentants des États-Unis ayant statué en juin 2002 qu'Antonio Meucci, qui avait déposé une demande de brevet en 1871, était le véritable inventeur du téléphone : Bell lui en avait volé la paternité.
Il a été lauréat de la Médaille Hughes en 1913.
Bell a consacré sa vie à apprendre à parler aux sourds. Il était un spécialiste de l'élocution, on dirait aujourd'hui phonologue ou phoniâtre.
